Cumberland TN looks to avenge last year's loss to Florida Memorial

Three meetings since 2021 have gone Cumberland TN's way twice, but the most recent one belongs to Florida Memorial, a 24-19 win last September that flipped the short series' momentum. This week's meeting is a non-conference game, with Cumberland TN representing the Mid-South Conference and Florida Memorial the Sun Conference, so neither side's standing in its own league is on the line.

Versus has Cumberland TN, at 2-1, sitting 22nd in NAIA with an A- grade across the board, including an A- defense that ranks 18th. Florida Memorial is also 2-1 but comes in at 32nd, carrying an A- offense ranked 18th that outpaces a defense graded B and ranked 36th. Cumberland TN's strength of schedule ranks 33rd against Florida Memorial's 58th, a gap Versus factors into a projection that favors the Bulldogs by 7 points, 34-27.

Florida Memorial has climbed in the Versus power rankings for three straight weeks and just posted its best mark of the season, evidence the Lions are trending upward even as they enter as the lower-rated side. Cumberland TN, though, is one of just 19 NAIA teams ranked in the Versus top 25 in both offense and defense, and its most lopsided win since November 2025 suggests a team capable of pulling away if the game opens up.
