Butler's 66-spot FCS rank edge tests Presbyterian's home streak
The gap between these two is about as wide as it gets inside one conference. Versus places Butler at No. 26 in FCS while Presbyterian sits at No. 92, a 66 spot difference that lines up with the letter grades: an A- overall mark for the Bulldogs against a C- for the Blue Hose. Butler also carries the highest Versus rating anywhere in the Pioneer, and three of its eight wins this season have come by 21 points or more, a sign the Bulldogs are built for exactly this kind of lopsided projection.
Presbyterian's case rests almost entirely on its own building. The Blue Hose have won 11 straight at home, a streak that stretches back to November 2024, and they have scored markedly better in Presbyterian than they have away from it this season. That split matters here, since this is a conference game that counts in the Pioneer standings regardless of the gap in the ratings.
Versus still favors Butler by 17, projecting a 38-21 result and giving the Bulldogs an 84 percent chance to win. Presbyterian has shown it can play above its ranking at home, but it will need that version of itself to hold up against the best rated team in the league.
