D3 · Conference of New EnglandConference game
Husson's schedule strength gives it the edge over Curry despite close D3 ranks
Strength of schedule is where this one separates. Husson sits 64th in Division III strength of schedule, while Curry ranks 207th, a gap that outweighs the mere eleven spots between their overall D3 standings, 139th to 150th. That difference helps explain why Versus sees Husson as the clearer side in this Conference of New England matchup, which counts in the standings for both the Eagles and the Colonels.
Husson's C grades across the board hide a team that has scored at least 26 points in each of its last three games, even with a 2-5 record to show for it. Curry counters with a 4-3 mark, but its power rating has slipped for six straight weeks, leaving it with a power rank of 193 in Division III. Curry's defense, graded D, has had a hard time matching its own offense's C- production.
Curry does get a real lift at home, scoring well more there than it does on the road this season, which keeps the Colonels from being written off entirely. Still, Versus projects Husson to win 36-23, giving the Eagles a 78 percent chance to take this one on the road.
