UW-Whitewater projected to extend command over UW-River Falls

UW-Whitewater has won 17 of 18 meetings with UW-River Falls since 2007, including nine of the last ten, and Versus expects that pattern to hold again this week. Both programs arrive at 3-0, both carry A+ overall grades, and both sit among the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's most complete teams, but the history in this particular series has consistently broken one way.

UW-Whitewater brings the No. 1 offensive rank and No. 2 defensive rank in Division III, backed by a power rank of 1, and comes off a 69-0 win that was its most lopsided since November 2022. UW-River Falls counters with an A+ across every grade of its own, a No. 3 defensive rank and No. 4 offensive rank, and a 14-game winning streak that has carried it to No. 5 in the Versus Division III rankings, one spot ahead of Whitewater's No. 9.

Neither team has been tested by a difficult schedule so far, with River Falls ranked 65th in strength of schedule and Whitewater 96th among 234 Division III teams, so the ratings gap here is drawn mostly from performance rather than opposition. Versus projects a 32-26 UW-Whitewater win, giving the Warhawks a 65 percent chance to move to 4-0 as a conference game inside the WIAC.
