Princeton favored to finally end Yale's four-game run in the series
Yale holds a 12-6 edge in 18 meetings with Princeton since 2007, and the Bulldogs have won seven of the last ten, including four straight. Princeton has not beaten Yale since November 2021, a stretch that makes this week's meeting the Tigers' best chance in years to change that trend.
This is a conference game in the Ivy League, and Versus gives Princeton a slight edge, projecting 24-22 with a 54 percent win probability. The Tigers have climbed 53 spots in the FCS rankings this season, from No. 66 to No. 13, built on an A- defense that ranks 24th in FCS even though the offense grades out at just a C+ and ranks 72nd. Princeton has also gone 3-1 in one-score games this season, a sign the defense has held up when games stay close, which this one is projected to do.
Yale comes in having slid the other direction, falling from No. 13 to No. 58 in FCS after an uneven season. The Bulldogs' lone marquee result was a win over Dartmouth, currently 32nd in FCS, but a B- overall grade with a middling defense ranked 68th leaves less margin against a team playing its best football of the year.
