Indiana PA's unbeaten mark hides a modest power rank against Lock Haven
A 5-0 record usually tells the whole story, but Indiana PA's ratings profile suggests otherwise. The Crimson Hawks sit just 42nd in power rank and 37th in offense among Division II teams, with a schedule strength rank of 112 that has done little to test that unbeaten run. Versus still likes Indiana PA here, projecting a 31-24 win and giving the Crimson Hawks a 65 percent chance, but the model's own numbers show an A overall grade built on opportunity as much as dominance.
Lock Haven's 3-2 mark undersells a team graded B overall with a B+ on defense, better by letter than Indiana PA's own B grade on that side of the ball. The Bald Eagles' offense is graded B- and ranks 69th, and their own strength of schedule rank of 103 shows they have not faced a murderers' row either, but the underlying grades point to a team more competitive than its record alone would suggest.
Indiana PA has climbed from 54th to 16th in the Division II rankings this season, a jump that reflects real improvement even if the power numbers have not fully caught up. With both teams largely untested by schedule strength, Saturday's meeting in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference will count fully in the standings and could do more than the box score to clarify where each team actually stands.
