Sacred Heart looks to break series deadlock with Stonehill at home
Stonehill and Sacred Heart have split their last four meetings right down the middle, sitting at 2-2 since 2022, and this one arrives with the series trending toward the home side. Sacred Heart has won seven consecutive games at home, a streak that still stands, and Versus gives the Pioneers a 61 percent chance to push that number to eight.
The gap between these two FCS programs is real but not enormous. Sacred Heart sits 81st in FCS with a C overall grade, Stonehill 103rd with a D+, and Sacred Heart's defense, graded C+ and ranked 68th, should have an edge on a Stonehill offense ranked 104th in the division. Stonehill's own defense, graded C and ranked 81st, gives the Skyhawks a path to stay competitive if their offense can find any rhythm.
Stonehill has gone 1-4 over its last five games, even as the program climbed to a season-best No. 103 in the Versus FCS rankings this week. Sacred Heart, meanwhile, has lost all three of its games this season to teams with winning records, suggesting its two wins have come against more modest competition. With the game non-conference and carrying no standings weight for either side, Versus projects a 26-21 final in Sacred Heart's favor, a margin of 5.
